first_imgFootball fans will come together tomorrow night to send a special cheer to one of their rising stars critically injured in an accident in Spain.Oisin and Josephine in happier times.Finn Harps Reserves player Oisin Merritt continues to fight for his life after a fall in Mallorca on Monday morning last.The 19 year old from Stranorlar was on the last day of his holiday when the accident happened. He has been placed in an induced coma and is understood to have suffered a bleed to the brain.Members of Finn Harps Supporters Club have sent out a special plea for fans to turn up at the club’s game against Longford Town at Finn Park in Ballybofey tomorrow night in honour of Oisin.A spokesman posted a message on Facebook appealing for fans to come out and let Oisin know that he is in their thoughts and prayers.“One big plea to everyone. In light of the horrible news regarding Harps player Oisin Merritt in Spain, we ask that everyone takes to Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag ‪#‎prayforoisin‬ “It’s times like these we all need to come together and show our support for a young man who really needs it.“We would like to see everyone in the ground pile up behind the nets and create a real atmosphere in Finn Park and make sure we’re heard the whole way to Spain on Friday night.“All of us at 54 Crew Supporters Club would like to extend our best wishes to Oisin, his family, and his wider circle of friends.”Oisin’s girlfriend Josephine O’Neill and his parents Rose and Gary have jetted out to be by Oisin’s bedside.Oisin has shown a slight improvement but is still in an induced soma before doctors decide what steps to take to help him recover.
